Materials & Devices
Materials & Devices is the Company’s upstream activity in renewable energy technologies that guarantees supply to our downstream divisions. The division focuses on developing feedstock technologies that would otherwise restrain or disrupt growth, and manufacturing all technology specific devices within our technology focus areas.
Citizenre’s current technology focus is on the photovoltaic industry. The Company has identified clear redundancies and unnecessary cost structures in its fragmented structure. And furthermore, has assessed the state of the technology and determined that substantial economies-of-scale can be captured through large-scale manufacturing and distribution activities.
Despite the initial focus on the Photovoltaics industry, we are also looking into horizontal aggregation of other renewable energy technologies, such as wind turbine technology and hydrogen fuel cells. But specifically, Citizenre is paying extra attention to the energy storage technologies like flywheel and compressed air.
The Company sees the ability to store energy as the factor that will make intermittent renewable energy a mainstay in the energy mix. It will guarantee the installation of distributed generation beyond the net-metering limitations. And it is what will make our grid more reliable and more responsive.
